The Entry‑Level Sustainability Engineer supports the company’s global environmental and sustainability initiatives within a precision manufacturing environment. This role helps design and implement sustainable manufacturing practices, improve resource efficiency, and ensure compliance with environmental standards. Collect and analyze environmental performance data, including energy use, water consumption, emissions, and waste. Assist with implementing waste reduction, recycling, and energy efficiency initiatives within the production environment. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, Legal, HR, EHS, and Quality) to identify sustainable materials, processes, and technologies. Support life cycle assessments (LCA) and carbon footprint calculations for precision components and manufacturing operations. Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on reducing environmental impact and increasing operational efficiency. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations. Assist in preparing sustainability reports, metrics dashboards, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders. Stay current on industry trends, standards, and innovations in sustainable manufacturing WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Sustainability Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Master’s is highly preferred. Internship or co‑op experience in manufacturing, engineering, or sustainability preferred (but not required). Familiarity with precision manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, metal finishing, assembly) is a plus. Demonstrated Project Management experience is desired. Knowledge of environmental standards and certifications (ISO 14001, GRI). Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Working knowledge of sustainability metrics, energy management, and environmental compliance. Ability to work cross‑functionally with technical and non‑technical teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Detail‑oriented with a continuous improvement mindset. ADDITIONAL SKILLS THAT WILL HELP YOU BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools; experience with CAD or process modeling software is a plus. Experience with com, Qlik, and AI tools is helpful.
