Aquatics Fitness Marketing – Public Relations Southern Adventures Sport Programs Aquatics – The Aquatics Graduate Assistant will be responsible for programming, including promotion, scheduling, and evaluation of all aquatic programs and special events; recruiting, training, scheduling, supervising, and evaluation student staff of lifeguards and swim instructors; assisting in program evaluation and development/revision of policies and procedures; management of daily administration of aquatic facility activities, including correspondence with student staff and patrons; management and maintenance of indoor/outdoor aquatic facilities, including water chemistry, filtration, and cleanliness; assisting with CRI special events and perform other duties as assigned. Contact: Chris Hansen, chansen@georgiasouthern.edu Fitness – The Fitness Graduate Assistant will be responsible for assisting in the coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the department's comprehensive fitness program, including services, programs, and special events. This role includes assisting in the recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, supervision, and evaluation of all fitness staff, including personal trainers, group fitness instructors, fitness specialists, fitness supervisors, and program assistants. The GA will lead this team and manage all related services offered. The incumbent will serve as a program representative for Georgia Southern University; correspond with students, staff, participants, and guests; and assist with departmental duties as an active member of the Graduate Assistant cohort. Contact: Drew Powell, wdpowell@georgiasouthern.edu Marketing – Public Relations/Project Manager The Marketing – Public Relations/Project Management Graduate Assistant’s responsibilities include representing Campus Recreation & Intramurals (CRI) in various mediums including in-person, digital and in print, including but not limited to writing press releases, editing copy for the web, updating marketing materials throughout our facilities, and presenting to various groups both on and off-campus; scheduling and daily management of undergraduate marketing staff; planning and executing marketing campaigns, strategic planning, project management, capturing video/photos, and designing layouts; assisting with CRI special events and other duties as assigned. (leadership orientation program for incoming first-year students); recruitment, scheduling, and training of staff in each area; planning, developing, implementing, and supervising programs, seminars, and special events; teach outdoor pursuit undergraduate activity courses (i.e. Indoor Rock Climbing); assist in program evaluation and development/revision of policies and procedures; assist in daily administration of program activities, including correspondence with student staff and program participants; management and maintenance of equipment and indoor/outdoor facilities; assist with CRI special events and perform other duties as assigned.
