Assistant Professor of Political Science Location: Kennesaw, Georgia • Regular • Full-Time • Tenure-track Job ID: 289923 Job Summary: Kennesaw State University is accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Political Science in the School of Government and International Affairs with a preferred start date of August 2026. This is a nine-month contracted position and work is performed in the state of Georgia. Responsibilities Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in one or more Political Science subfields. Teaching courses of variable size and modalities, including large classes. Service to department, college, university, and profession. Scholarship/Research: Maintaining a steady research and publication agenda in one or more of the following areas: security policy, homeland security, and emergency management (focus on the role of artificial intelligence to be considered). Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines. Required Qualifications A Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Political Science or a related discipline, is required at the time of hire. Experience teaching in-person, online or hybrid courses and willingness to teach in large classes. Evidence of or potential for scholarship activities pertaining to one or more of the following areas: security policy, homeland security, emergency management, or artificial intelligence (focus on the role of artificial intelligence to be considered).
